September 24th

I started the day with sleeping in until around 11:30 then got ready to go to the market to price shop. It turns out that the market we went to today is actually cheaper for fruits and veggies than it is at the supermarket! Not by much, but by about 50 cents a kilogram on average. I am definitely going back tomorrow to get my fruits and veggies for the week. I like the fact that it is cheaper and everything will be locally grown. I also feel like this way I am getting the true Florence experience by shopping at the open air market. On the way home I went by the train station to see if it would be cheaper to buy the tickets to visit Catie at the station vs online. Truth is, it isn't. I am so bummed because Courtney saved over half the cost of her trip by going to the station and I don't save any!

I got home and worked on homework and then skyped with my mom for about an hour! It was great to see her and talk to her for so long. We decided to have a weekly skype date and I love that. After skyping I did more homework until it was time to go to dinner.

We went with two girls that Courtney has class with to a restaurant called Quattro Leoni which was highly recommend to both Courtney and I from different people. It is by far the best food we have had here yet. The portions were a bit on the small side but the food was to die for. It was reasonably priced but the portions were smaller than we had hoped for. The food tasted so fresh and I think we will go back again. I got a ravioli dish with a tomato sauce and a cheese filling. It was delicious! On the way home we got some gelato. It wasn't the best we have had, but it was still very good!

Tomorrow morning Courtney and I have a breast cancer fundraiser run. It is only about a 5k but it will still be fun! I will be able to cross running off my list for tomorrow and it is for a good cause, a double whammy!

Con amore, Ciao!
